Contributing content

Our database is user-contributed. This means that you can add hand signals to the dictionary.

Anyone can add new phrases along with the signals for them, and anyone can edit existing signals.

You can also add additional signals to existing phrases. For example, the phrase "turtle" has different signals depending on where you are in the world. If you do not see the signal used for "turtle" in your part of the world, please go to the existing page for "turtle" and click Add another signal to add it!

Contributing translations

There are thousands of different languages spoken throughout the world.

We want to make this dictionary accessible to all people, regardless of the language they speak.

If you are fluent in written English plus at least one other language and would like to contribute translations, please click this button to contact us.

Donating money

The Underwater Dictionary does not require much monetary overhead to stay online, but it does require some.

Domain name registration and web hosting are recurring costs that must be paid in order to stay alive.

If you are able to donate even a small amount it will go a long way! Consider making a small but recurring donation to help pay for hosting every month.
